Warrior Cup as dress rehearsal for Champions Hockey League Tournament in Kaufbeuren last test of the season before CHL start// Warrior CupNext weekend, EC Red Bull Salzburg will play two games in the Warrior Cup in Kaufbeuren, Bavaria, before the first two home games of the Champions Hockey League next week. With one game each on Saturday - against the Scottish team Glasgow Clan - and Sunday - Jokerit Helsinki or ESV Kaufbeuren - the Red Bulls will play the last two test games before the CHL home opener next Friday against Sweden's champions Skellefteå AIK. Even though the Red Bulls are missing seven Austrians due to the ongoing Olympic qualifiers, they want to use the opportunity to fine-tune their game and prepare for the upcoming international tasks.

Seven players from the Red Bull Hockey Juniors have been training with the professional team since Monday and will also join them at the weekend. Maximilian Wurzer already has the experience of five ICE games, Vadim Schreiner only recently played his first two professional games at the Red Bulls Salute. Goalkeeper Thomas Pfarrmaier has also been on the bench as a backup in an ICE game. For Fabian Baumann, Maximilian Kirchebner, Leon Kolarik and Paul Noll, these will be their first games with the Salzburg pros.
The Red Bulls will also have to do without defender Phillip Sinn, who is recovering from injury. Thomas Raffl, who is back in team training, is also still out.

“Training is much faster and more precise than with the Juniors. But we also get a lot of help from the pros. We've already gone through the tactics and game system for the weekend and now we're looking forward to the tournament. We've trained hard over the last few weeks and I think we're well prepared.”
Warrior Cup in Kaufbeuren
Four teams are taking part in the Warrior Cup in Kaufbeuren (Bavaria). The Red Bulls will face Glasgow Clan (Elite Ice Hockey League) in the semi-finals on Saturday. The game against the winner or loser of Jokerit Helsinki (Mestis, 2nd Finnish League) against ESV Kaufbeuren (DEL 2) follows on Sunday.
