Game report
The second meeting between the two teams within a week started evenly, fast-paced, and physical. As the game progressed, the Juniors came into their own, gained more possession in attack, and defused Cortina's attacks with quick transitions. There were no clear scoring chances at first. It was only towards the end of the first period that the goalies had to make more saves. Antti Karjalainen for the home team and Luca Haitzmann for the visitors kept their respective goals clean, so the first intermission came with no goals scored.
At the start of the second period, Cortina played well despite being a man down after a late penalty in the first period and narrowly missed scoring a shorthanded goal, with Haitzmann reacting strongly. Back at full strength, the Italians briefly increased the pressure before the Juniors picked up the pace again. Maxim Eliseev failed to beat Karjalainen on his own (24th), shortly after Jesse Juhola (27th) and Eliseev again (28th) tested the home team's goalkeeper. Cortina repeatedly looked for the tall man, but the Red Bulls countered with consistent forechecking. In the 30th minute, Adrian Gesson took advantage of the space in the attacking third after a pass from Luca Kogler and scored to make it 1-0. Cortina pushed for the equalizer, but Salzburg defended compactly and remained dangerous in transition. In the 36th minute, Luca Kogler made it 2-0 after strong work from Gesson and Paul Schuster. The Juniors survived a late power play and took their lead into the second intermission.
In the final period, Salzburg first neutralized the remaining penalty and then went back on the offensive. Cortina kept trying, but rarely found clear chances against the stable defense. In the 49th minute, Mathias Böhm took advantage of a mistake by the home team and scored to make it 3-0. In the final minutes, Cortina came back again, putting pressure on Haitzmann's juniors and also gaining a power play opportunity. Salzburg defended resolutely and secured goalkeeper Luca Haitzmann the shutout. With the 3-0 away win, the Red Bull Hockey Juniors crowned the week with a total of eight points and go into the two-week break.

Head Coach Teemu Levijoki
“We are very satisfied and played very well today. It was our third game this week and we won all three. That was a strong performance! During the two weeks without games, we will first have some tests, then a few days off, before part of the team travels to the national teams and the other part returns to training.”
