In the second period, Zell am See pulled away with three goals to make it 5-2. Maximilian Wurzer narrowed the gap to 5-3, but the Eisbären made it 6-3. Shortly before the end of the period, Fabian Baumann scored to make it 6-4. In the 59th minute, Blaž Tomazevic scored an empty-net goal to make it 7-4.

Game report
Both teams started the second Salzburg derby of the season at a high tempo. An early penalty slowed down the Juniors, the Eisbären established themselves in the power play and Fredrik Widen scored from the blue line to take a 1-0 lead (3rd minute). The Red Bulls sought a quick equalizer and got into the game better with their running play. In the 11th minute, Jesse Juhola broke through and scored against goalkeeper Alexander Schmidt to make it 1-1. The Juniors defended well during Zell's next power play. In the 15th minute, Maxim Eliseev deflected Fabian Baumann's shot in front of the goal to make it 2-1 for Salzburg. Zell am See remained dangerous and equalized in the 18th minute through Dominik Prodinger, after a pass from Alexander Rupnik, to make it 2-2. The intense final phase of the period remained without further goals despite several penalties.
In the middle period, the game swung in favor of the home team. In the 23rd minute, Nick Huard finished off an attack by the Eisbären to give them a 3-2 lead. The Juniors found fewer clear paths to goal, and Zell am See increased their lead to 4-2 in the 27th minute through Janick Wernicke. In the 30th minute, Dominik Prodinger scored to make it 5-2. The Red Bulls then made a change in goal, with Luca Haitzmann replacing Valentin Ankirchner. The Juniors gained fresh momentum: in the 31st minute, Maximilian Wurzer converted a quick attack to make it 5-3 after a pass from Luca Kogler. But the Eisbären countered efficiently with their next attack, Maximilian Wilfan scoring to make it 6-3 in the 35th minute. Shortly before the break (40th minute), Fabian Baumann brought the Juniors to 6-4 with a shot from the blue line.
In the final period, the Juniors sought to close the gap, but failed repeatedly against Zell's compact defense and were unable to capitalize on power play opportunities. In the final stages, Salzburg pulled their goalie for an extra field player, but the Eisbären defended disciplinedly. In the 59th minute, Blaž Tomazevic scored into an empty net to make it 7-4.
