After yesterday's home defeat against HCB Südtirol Alperia, Salzburg wants to quickly recover and play more cohesively as a team, but is once again preparing for a tough and intense duel against the Black Wings in Linz.

Current situation
After yesterday's Bundesliga round, the six teams above the line marking automatic playoff qualification are now closer together than ever. Only five points separate the teams in first place (Ljubljana) and sixth place (Vienna). The Red Bulls are in third place, two points behind the league leaders.
After a mediocre start to the season, the Black Wings Linz are nowhere near the top half of the table and are in 11th place with three points after six games. Their victory against Feldkirch at the start of the league was followed by five defeats in a row. Yesterday, the Upper Austrians were defeated 2-3 at home by KAC. Before that, they also lost 2-3 in Bolzano – but that should be reason enough to face Linz with 100% commitment, because these games could have ended differently. For the Red Bulls, this is a learned necessity, as they have learned from countless tough derbies in the past.
Hardly any surprises in terms of personnel
In Linz, the protagonists of recent years continue to lead the way. Brian Lebler (5 goals), Graham Knott (3), and Shawn St-Amant (3) are impressing with their goal-scoring rates. New signing Travis Barron (3) also knows where the goal is, and Emil Romig, who missed the entire last season due to injury, has made a strong comeback with 2 goals.
The Red Bulls will field the same lineup as yesterday against Bolzano (i.e., still without seven injured players and new signing Brandon Coe), but they want to be more aggressive in the offensive zone and need to be more clinical with their chances, which is all the more important in the often heated atmosphere at the Linz AG Eisarena.
Statement from Lucas Thaler
"It wasn't a bad game for us yesterday, after all, we were playing against Bolzano. But we still need to play better together as a team. We need to eliminate the mistakes in the back line, which was punished harshly yesterday. Now we're off to Linz, where another tough game awaits. But we're looking forward to a full house and a great game."
