Red Bulls visit Pustertal The Wolves from Bruneck await their first home win// win2day ICE Hockey LeagueEC Red Bull Salzburg will play an away game against HC Falkensteiner Pustertal Wolves tomorrow, Friday, in the win2day ICE Hockey League (7:45 p.m., Sporteurope.tv).
The Italian club had a good start to the league, but suffered defeat in their only home game so far against the Graz99ers. The Red Bulls have had the upper hand in their still young history with the Italians and want to keep it that way.

Starting point
This is only the fifth season that HC Falkensteiner Pustertal Wölfe has played in the ICE Hockey League. But in that short time, the team from Bruneck, Italy, has already made a name for itself and set ambitious goals for the current season. This was reflected in their 8-1 season opener victory in Innsbruck, but even more so in their 3-0 win last Sunday in Villach. The fact that head coach Jason Jaspers' team (in Bruneck since last season) lost 4-0 to Moser Medical Graz99ers in their only home game so far will spur them on even more to do better against the Red Bulls.
The Red Bulls will first have to figure out how the Italians really “tick,” as many player changes over the summer have significantly altered the face of the team. Among the 14 departures are big names such as Brett Findlay, Alex Petan, and Tyler Coulter. Among the 13 new signings, Nick Saracino (from Asiago), Rok Ticar (from Graz), and Jonathon Blum (from EHC Red Bull Munich) stand out from a league perspective.
Red Bulls brace for tough game
Even though their record against the South Tyroleans is positive, with 11 wins and 5 losses in 16 games, the Salzburg team has often struggled against this opponent. Last season, the head-to-head match ended 2-2, and in the last game in Bruneck in mid-February, the Red Bulls came back from a 1-3 deficit after 40 minutes to win 4-3 in overtime in the modern Intercable Arena, which only opened in 2021.
The Red Bulls still need to focus and pull together even more in their own game, because in addition to the seven players who are still recovering and will continue to be absent this weekend (Ali Wukovits, Peter Hochkofler, Mario Huber, Troy Bourke, Philipp Wimmer, Maximilian Wurzer, and Vadim Schreiner), defender Lukas Hörl, whose lower body injury from the last game in Vienna is still being assessed, will also be out. In his place, 19-year-old Alexander Rebernig, the younger brother of former academy and current VSV forward Maximilian Rebernig, could make his professional debut. The Red Bull Ice Hockey Academy defender grew up in the Salzburg youth system and is on the team bus to Bruneck.
