Red Bulls look forward to first test match The Slovakian champions visit Salzburg | Followed by a fan event// FriendlyEC Red Bull Salzburg will play their first test match of the new season against HC Košice (3:00 p.m.) on Saturday, August 16, at the Eisarena Salzburg. This will be followed by a fan event with an autograph session at the Eisarena. When the Red Bulls face HC Košice after five days of training, they will immediately get a good indication of where they stand, as Košice are the Slovakian champions and, with ten titles, the record champions of the Slovakian Extraliga. Salzburg's only previous encounter with the Slovaks was at the Red Bulls Salute 2021 in Kitzbühel, where they won the third-place play-off 6-1. It is the only home game before the start of the CHL games in Salzburg at the end of August.
It is also the first test of the season for Košice. The Slovakian champions are relying on domestic power and have 23 Slovakian players in their squad. The team on the ice is complemented by two Ukrainians and one Czech. The head coach is 52-year-old Canadian Dan Ceman, who is entering his fifth season as head coach in Košice and has already gained experience in the win2day ICE Hockey League with Villach and Linz (2020-21).

"The first game is the same every year. You know it's going to be difficult and that not everything is 100% right yet. But the new players are already working well together, we're already at a good level and we want to build on that on Saturday. The Slovaks will play with a working-class mentality and give it their all. We'll do the same, make sure we stick to the system, and try to get into the game quickly. In any case, we're looking forward to it."
Autograph session and get-together with fans
After the game, at around 6 p.m., the Red Bulls players and coaches are expected to attend an autograph session in the foyer of the ice arena. Afterwards, the Red Bulls and fans can round off the “get-to-know-you” evening together in the Two Seasons stadium restaurant. The event is scheduled to end at 8:00 p.m.
New Red Bulls jersey available in the Bullshop
The Red Bulls will be seen in their new 2025/26 season look for the first time during the test match against Košice. The home jersey will then be available for purchase directly in the Bullshop in front of the ice arena. Starting Monday, the new home jerseys will be available online at the Bullshop.
Season ticket holders get in free
Seats and standing room for adults 14 and older cost $15. Discounted tickets are $10. Kids under 14 get in free. On game day, the box office at the Salzburg Ice Arena will be open from 1:00 p.m. Season ticket holders have free admission to this game in addition to the CHL home games of the regular season. | Tickets
