Red Bulls put through their pacesMonday marks the start of training at the Red Bull Ice Hockey Academy// NewsBefore starting joint team training, the EC Red Bull Salzburg pros are put through their paces with a comprehensive medical examination and various performance tests.
The Red Bulls are looking forward to defending their title – but only with healthy players. To avoid any risk of injury or illness, the pros undergo a comprehensive series of tests before the start of each season, in which they are examined for all relevant medical parameters that are prerequisites for intensive performance training. At the same time, performance tests are used to collect data that reflects the players' current fitness level.
Dr. Klein, team doctor for the Red Bulls and head of examinations
“The aim of the tests is to tailor training to the individual player as much as possible. The tests are divided into two areas: on the one hand, classic medical examinations and, on the other hand, performance diagnostics, which are used for training control.”

Goalkeeper David Kickert
“It's not getting any easier. But it's always like a welcome greeting. You know that the season is starting again. It's always a big challenge, but when I look at Pomsche, who is 39 years old, it makes it a little easier for me.”
Here we go!
On Monday, August 11, the Red Bulls will start joint team training. While the guys have already taken the opportunity to get on the ice several times this week at the Red Bull Ice Hockey Academy, new head coach Manny Viveiros will gather the team at the Red Bulls' training facility next Monday for their first joint team training session, officially kicking off their title defense mission.
