Helsinki IFK wins the Red Bulls Salute 2023
Helsinki IFK beat Red Bull Munich 4-2 in the final of the Red Bulls Salute 2023 to win the 16th edition of the tournament. ZSC Lions secured third place with a 1-0 win ahead of EC Red Bull Salzburg.
Four nations, four top teams - on the return of the tournament to Zell am See, where the Red Bulls Salute has already made a stop in 2010, several thousand spectators saw four top-class international games over two match days, which clearly stand out from the pre-season calendar. The 'Hockey Town' Zell am See welcomed the participants in the KE-KELIT Arena with an atmospheric ambience and made the 16th edition of the tournament once again a highlight for every ice hockey fan.
The host Red Bull clubs from Munich and Salzburg are already looking forward to welcoming the fans again next year in the 'Hockey Town' Zell am See for the Red Bulls Salute.

Helsinki IFK | In the Finnish original Helsingfors IFK, is one of the most successful Finnish ice hockey teams with a total of seven titles in the national top league Liiga. The Finnish capital celebrated its last championship trophy in 2011, followed by another final appearance and several semifinals. For the Finns it is the second participation in the Red Bulls Salute, in 2019 they finished third in Kitzbühel. ZSC Lions | The ZSC Lions are nine-time Swiss champions and last brought the cup to Zurich in 2018. Founded in 1930, the Zurich skating club looks back on a long tradition and has also celebrated international successes - such as winning the Champions Hockey League in 2009 (organized by the IIHF at the time), the Victoria Cup in 2009 and the Red Bulls Salute in Salzburg in 2006. It will be the fourth tournament participation for the Swiss. Red Bull Munich | Red Bull Munich is one of the most successful German ice hockey teams and has won the German top league PENNY DEL three times in a row from 2016 to 2018 and in 2023. One of Munich's biggest international successes was reaching the final of the CHL 2018/19, beating Ingolstadt in the final of the last DEL season. Since 2017, the four-time German champions have also participated in the Red Bulls Salute and have already won the tournament twice. EC Red Bull Salzburg | EC Red Bull Salzburg plays in the win2day ICE Hockey League and last season brought the championship trophy back to Salzburg after 2022. The thus eight-time title holder of the cross-border league prevailed in a highly exciting final series over seven games against HCB Südtirol Alperia. The Red Bulls Salute is inseparably linked with the Salzburgers, who have won the tournament twice so far.
