Intensive week follows international break Red Bulls play four games in the win2day ICE Hockey League // win2day ICE Hockey League EC Red Bull Salzburg starts the week after the international break in the win2day ICE Hockey League with the away double in Asiago (Tuesday) and Bruneck (Wednesday), followed by home games against Graz (Friday) and Asiago again (Sunday).
The basic round of the ICE Hockey League is entering the home stretch. The Red Bulls still have six games to play, four of them this week - Tuesday's game in Asiago is an addendum from December due to Salzburg's CHL participation. The Red Bulls are thinking step by step and are now only focusing on the first game against Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey (Tuesday, 20:00, livestream). From there, it's straight on to Bruneck, where the away game against HC Pustertal Wölfe takes place on Wednesday.

Starting position Well rested and prepared - with goalies Atte Tolvanen and David Kickert as well as defenseman Paul Stapelfeldt, only three players played with the Austrian national team last week - the Red Bulls head to Asiago today, where a tough game awaits them tomorrow. The Italians have no chance of reaching the pre-playoffs with five rounds to go, but will be highly motivated to give the Austrian champions a leg up again, as they did just that once before last October when the Red Bulls lost 5-1 in Asiago.
An additional warning for the Red Bulls are the recent results of the Italians, who won at home against Vienna and Székesfehérvár before the league break. But the Red Bulls also made a strong showing before the break with a brilliant 6:2 home win against Bolzano and will be looking to continue in the same vein in Asiago. Phillip Sinn and Lucas Thaler, who are back in action, can also help to defend second place in the table (tied on points with third-placed Bolzano).

Statement Florian Baltram
Statement by Florian Baltram
“Now the final spurt begins, every game counts, we need all the points. We're ready for Asiago, even if it's never easy there. Many teams find it difficult there. You can control the game, but you always have to be prepared for their strong counter-attacks. That's how they like to surprise their opponents. But we want to approach it like we did in our last home win against Bolzano, and that means being ready right from the start.”
