Here we go again. After four games in the Champions Hockey League, the domestic championship now also begins with the basic round on Friday. The Red Bulls enter the race as defending champions and will host Klagenfurt on Friday in the opening game of last year's final duel.

Excitement ahead of last season's final rematch
KAC vs. Red Bulls - the new championship season starts with a cracker. Last season's final series with the KAC is still very much alive, it took seven games for the Red Bulls to be crowned champions and thus celebrate a three-peat for the first time in the league and club's history. But even without this series of finals, the game is a thriller in a sporting rivalry that has grown over many years between two clubs that have been shaping events in the league for many years (live on Puls 24).
But not only the KAC, but also many other clubs, some of which have strengthened their ranks in the summer, will be chasing the title and thus the Red Bulls. Salzburg are well prepared with five new signings, two of them from the Red Bull Ice Hockey Academy, which is also reflected in their recent results in the Champions Hockey League (three wins from four games). The Red Bulls are ready for the season opener.

“We're looking forward to the first game in Klagenfurt. We're expecting a full arena with loud fans and a tough game. We got off to a good start in the CHL and now we're starting our new mission in the domestic league in Klagenfurt. And we're starting from scratch. You don't get anything for free in this league and the teams are getting better and better. Nevertheless, we try to focus only on ourselves. Everyone works for each other and tries to do their job 100%.”

“We've been training for a long time and have a number of games behind us. From that perspective, the start of the domestic championship is simply the next game. But we treat every game as if it were a final. That's hard to do, but it's how we prepare mentally for the games. We are absolutely ready for the ICE Hockey League and the start in Klagenfurt. We also know that everyone wants to beat us and we have to find new ways to prevent that. It couldn't be more exciting than playing in Klagenfurt right at the start.”
