Red Bulls' squad for the coming season continues to take shape Three more Salzburg key players remain with the champions// Roster UpdateThe Red Bulls are retaining three more key players from last season's champions and are looking forward to continuing to work with strikers Mario Huber, Lucas Thaler (existing contract) and Florian Baltram (contract has been extended).
Mario Huber and Florian Baltram have been part of the Salzburg professional team for many years and Lucas Thaler is already entering his fourth full season with the Red Bulls.
Mario Huber has been one of the reliable pillars of the Salzburg team for seven years and has continuously developed into a leading player from season to season. His strong drive to score - with 6 goals in the playoffs he was Salzburg's third-best scorer in the postseason - and his tireless work at the back make him an all-rounder who has played a decisive role in Salzburg's success. The 27-year-old striker has also led the team as assistant captain for the past three years and always has an open ear for the young players. The father of a son has also become a fixture in the Austrian national team, and the Innsbruck native will soon be competing in his second world championship in the Czech Republic.
At 27, Florian Baltram is also one of Salzburg's long-term players, having played his part in four championship titles with the Red Bulls. The Lower Austrian played his best season to date last season and has increasingly made a name for himself as a team-oriented player who also helps out in defense. With 26 assists, he is one of Salzburg's best assist providers - his line with wingers Troy Bourke and Lucas Thaler was one of the most agile in the Salzburg lineup in the playoffs - and he also scored a top 10 goals. The Red Bulls are looking forward to the tenth season with the hard worker who knows exactly where the goal is.
Lucas Thaler took a big step forward in his development last season. The 22-year-old talent from Villach set a new personal best with a total of 29 scoring points (14 goals, 15 assists). Thaler combines his innate scoring instinct with an unstoppable, hard-to-read shot and has also greatly improved his physical play in the past season, making him much more physically present on the ice. The forward, who is entering his fourth professional season with the Red Bulls, also wants to play a bigger role in the Austrian national team and is hoping for a place in the red-white-red team at the upcoming World Championship.
