Red Bulls announce first strikers for the new seasonSalzburg also relies on proven forces in the offense // Roster UpdateEC Red Bull Salzburg is also looking forward to the upcoming 2024/25 season with forwards Peter Hochkofler and Ali Wukovits - both have extended their contracts - as well as Salzburg's Luca Auer, who still has a working paper valid for next season.
All three players have been playing for the reigning champions of the win2day ICE Hockey League for some time and are now looking forward to continuing their cooperation.
Peter Hochkofler (29) has almost become an integral part of Salzburg. The forward joined the Red Bull Ice Hockey Academy at the age of 16 and has gradually made a name for himself ever since. He is a thoroughbred striker who gives 100% to the team and spares neither his opponents nor his own body. He is also extremely dangerous in front of goal, as evidenced by his 12 goals last season, his most successful as a professional. Hochkofler is entering his tenth professional season with the Red Bulls, making him the second longest-serving Red Bulls player in the current squad. Only captain Thomas Raffl has spent more time on Salzburg ice, having played 13 seasons.
Ali Wukovits (27) has played a key role in the Red Bulls' team success in recent years. In the last championship season, the center also played with his line mates in the playoffs mainly against the opponents' top lines, benefiting from his good skating technique, commitment and strong stickhandling. Equipped with these qualities, the native of Vienna and long-time national team player now wants to secure his place in the current Austrian World Championship squad (starting May 10 in the Czech Republic) before he starts his fourth season with the Red Bulls in August.
Luca Auer (19) is a promise for the future. The striker, who grew up in Oberndorf near Salzburg, played his best season to date in his third and first full professional season with the Red Bulls with 3 goals and 8 assists and also greatly improved his physical play. In addition to winning his third ICE title, he also helped the Red Bull Hockey Juniors win the Austrian AHL Championship against Zell am See in two finals. Auer has what it takes to become the next true Salzburg native to become a fixture on the Red Bulls' professional team.
