After yesterday's Salzburg defeat in Linz, the best-of-seven series is tied 1-1 and the Red Bulls want to turn the series back in their favor with the home crowd behind them.

Starting position
1:1 after two games - the quarter-final series between Salzburg and Linz is hard-fought. After the Red Bulls' 4:0 victory in the first game, the Upper Austrians equalized the series yesterday in Linz. The Red Bulls came close to equalizing in an evenly-matched duel in the final third, but then ran out of luck in the highly exciting final phase against a tight Linz team and lost 3-2.
After the first, rather heated game in Salzburg, both teams showed all their playoff virtues again yesterday in terms of fight and mentality, but were again more focused on the playful element and tried to avoid penalties with a lot of discipline. The Red Bulls will need that again in the third game, in which they want to regain the series lead with home advantage.
Goal scorers on duty
When it comes down to it, the 'usual suspects' are on hand. The six Salzburg goals so far have been scored by Thomas Raffl (2), Drake Rymsha (2), Peter Schneider (questionable tomorrow) and Lucas Thaler.
Brian Lebler, the top scorer among the defensemen, Logan Roe and Nico Feldner scored for Linz. Only Black Wings top scorer Graham Knott has yet to score.
Statement from Lucas Thaler
"It's now 1:1 in the series, but the mood is good. Yesterday was a tough battle and good field hockey. We want to keep playing like that, but make more of our chances and continue to reduce penalties. We also have home ice advantage again, it's always nice to play in front of your own fans and we want to take advantage of that. I think if we continue like this, we're on the right track."
