Both teams showed their superiority in the quarter-finals by defeating their opponents in a sweep. Having finished the regular season at the top of their respective leagues, both teams secured the privilege of home ice and the choice of opponents for the quarter-finals. The U20 team opted for the EV Spusu Vienna Capitals, whom they defeated in a best-of-three series with wins of 3:1 and 4:0. The U18s pulled off the sweep against Okanagan Hockey Academy with a 5-4 and 5-2 home win to end the series early.
The semifinals will now be played in a best-of-five format with a spot in the final at stake. This is not unfamiliar territory for the U20 team, who won the championship last year with a sweep through the playoffs. Both teams have clear goals for this year, as Matthew McGovern reveals: "We knew back in August that our goal was the championship. I think we're on the right track to get there."
