And the team is ready."// NextLevelThe U20 and U18 academy teams will enter the semi-finals of the playoffs on February 27, 2024. The U20 team will take on the challenge of the Ice Hockey Academy of Upper Austria, while the U18 team will face Budapest Jegkorong Akademia.Both teams showed their superiority in the quarter-finals by defeating their opponents in a sweep. Having finished the regular season at the top of their respective leagues, both teams secured the privilege of home ice and the choice of opponents for the quarter-finals. The U20 team opted for the EV Spusu Vienna Capitals, whom they defeated in a best-of-three series with wins of 3:1 and 4:0. The U18s pulled off the sweep against Okanagan Hockey Academy with a 5-4 and 5-2 home win to end the series early.
The semifinals will now be played in a best-of-five format with a spot in the final at stake. This is not unfamiliar territory for the U20 team, who won the championship last year with a sweep through the playoffs. Both teams have clear goals for this year, as Matthew McGovern reveals: "We knew back in August that our goal was the championship. I think we're on the right track to get there."
