On February 6 and 7, kindergartens, primary and secondary schools were invited to try out various winter sports and get active. A total of 850 children (!) and their supervisors took the opportunity to pick up an ice hockey stick or try their hand at figure skating or stick sports.
The Red Bulls were also on hand with junior trainers to teach those interested at least the basics of ice skating. "The most important thing is that the children enjoy the exercise," says Toni Walch, coach of the Salzburg U13 team. "If you spur the kids on a little, they're into it straight away. They are curious and want to learn new things if it's fun. It's also about making ice skating popular again in Salzburg and keeping it that way."
And where children are skating, Rob is of course a must. The Red Bulls mascot mingled with the crowd and was an instant star with the kids, as the following pictures (with class 1b from Nonntal secondary school) show.
