Red Bulls aim for next home win against AsiagoFlorian Baltram ahead of his 400th league game// win2day ICE Hockey LeagueEC Red Bull Salzburg will play tomorrow, Friday, the home game of the win2day ICE Hockey League against Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey (19:15, Livestream). The Red Bulls go into the encounter as league leaders and want to maintain their top position against the penultimate from Asiago.
Student Hockey Night
At the game against Asiago on Friday is again Student Hockey Night in the Eisarena Salzburg. Students, pupils and apprentices receive standing room tickets with 50% discount. Admission to the stadium with these tickets is reserved exclusively for students, pupils and apprentices. Upon request, appropriate proof (e.g. valid student ID) must be presented at the entrance.

The starting position
The cards before the Red Bulls' match against Asiago are clearly distributed. Salzburg are leading the table with nine wins from ten games and have also won their six home games so far. Asiago has only posted twice in ten games, most recently losing 5-0 at home to Ljubljana five days ago. Asiago have also scored the fewest goals of all league teams so far with 13, while Salzburg are fourth with 38.
The Italians have the small advantage that they haven't had a game since Sunday and have been able to prepare specifically for the encounter. The Red Bulls played their last game of the CHL Regular Season against the Lahti Pelicans on Tuesday and were eliminated from the competition after losing 5-1. In the meantime, the Salzburgers have come to terms with that and are now rushing into the next round of the domestic league highly motivated.
With 26 points from the first ten games and no defeats after the regular season, they have set a new record for the start of a new season. Previously, the club record dated back to the 2019/20 season, when the Red Bulls with Head Coach Matt McIlvane took 22 points with eight wins after nine rounds.
The opponent
Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey is in its second season in the ICE Hockey League. Last year, the team finished ninth in the first round, but failed to make the playoffs. This year, the Italians are making their next attempt with NHL-experienced head coach Tom Barrasso - the 58-year-old American played 896 games (!) in the NHL before his coaching career as a goalkeeper, for which he was also inducted into the NHL Hockey Hall of Fame in the summer - but are currently finding it difficult to climb out of the bottom third of the table.
Fun fact: Born in 2003 in Asiago, Filippo Rigoni (defenseman) and Filippo Rigoni (forward) have exactly the same name, but are not related.

"From the Champions Hockey League we are unfortunately eliminated, but we have measured ourselves against strong opponents and I think it is now to our advantage. We want to take the speed from the CHL against Asiago right away. And we want the next home win, but we also know that it won't be a walk in the park against Asiago and we have to play our best game."
Anniversary for the forward
The 26-year-old native of Vienna came to Salzburg in 2015, made his debut with the Red Bulls in the then Erste Bank Eishockey Liga and now plays his 400th league game (46 goals, 86 assists) against Asiago. In the CHL, Baltram has played 45 games with the Red Bulls so far.
