Match abandoned in Vienna Red Bulls had 2:0 lead after first period | Game has to be replayed// win2day ICE Hockey LeagueThe win2day ICE Hockey League match between spusu Vienna Capitals and EC Red Bull Salzburg was abandoned after the first period due to technical problems at STEFFL Arena. The Red Bulls were leading 2:0 at that point. Things went well for the Red Bulls as they dominated the game in the first period and also rewarded themselves with two goals. Adam Payerl (9th) scored for the first time for the Red Bulls, and Ali Wukovits (14th) netted five minutes later for a deserved 2-0 lead - another Red Bulls goal was disallowed after video review - after 20 minutes. After the break, however, play could not continue due to a broken cooling pipe. Despite all efforts of the hall staff to repair the damage, the game finally had to be called off.

Game to be replayed
The decision of the win2day ICE Hockey League: the game had to be abandoned due to unplayability of the ice surface because of a technical defect after the 1st period of play at the score of 0:2. It was not possible to repair the technical defect and restore the ice surface in due time.
In such a case, the ICE Gamebook provides for the game to be replayed. A new game date will be set by the ICE Sports Department in consultation with the affected clubs.
