Retired Numbers
It is something very special for every former professional ice hockey player to be honored and recognized at the end of a long career with Jersey Retirement, the locking of his back number. For his achievements over many years, for his successes and his commitment to the team, for his loyalty to the club. Visible from afar for every ice hockey fan and player, the locked numbers will then hang under the roof of the hall and forever remind us of the exceptional players who are immortalized there.
Matthias Trattnig
If any player deserves this honor, it is Matthias Trattnig. Four years after his retirement from competitive hockey, his jersey with the number 51 was pulled under the roof of the Eisarena Salzburg in a festive ceremony on December 10, 2023. 'Tratte' is Salzburg's record player in many respects and has also ended his ice hockey career with the Red Bulls. After 24 professional years (!), 14 of them, 2005 to 2019, with the Red Bulls, the defender retired from the big stage a few days before his 40th birthday.

The Austrian ice hockey scene was inextricably linked with his name for many years and in Salzburg, too, he was ultimately the defining face, the character player who could inspire the team with his charisma and athletic play.
Trattnig played a total of 1,424 (!) games as a professional in various leagues and competitions at international level. Among others in the NCAA (149 games), SHL (109 games), Erste Bank Eishockey Liga (768 games, all in Salzburg), 2 Olympic Games and 10 World Championships (Div. I & II). He won six Erste Bank Ice Hockey League titles with the Red Bulls as well as victories in the European Trophy with the then final tournament Red Bulls Salute in Vienna (2012) and the Continental Cup (2010). With the University of Maine he celebrated the NCAA title in 1999 and in his last professional season he made it to the semi-finals of the CHL with the Red Bulls (2019).
Trattnig, who also wore the C on his chest for five years, said of his farewell: "I'm honored. It's a reminder of the good times we had in Salzburg over 14 years. It's just a big part of my life and I'll always remember it fondly. My thanks go to the fans, Red Bull and especially the Red Bull ice hockey family, who made it all possible."
Manuel Latusa
When the back number 15 of Manuel Latusa was ceremoniously pulled under the hall roof of the Salzburg Ice Arena on September 16, 2022, the former Red Bulls forward had already long since been working as a coach in the Red Bull Ice Hockey Academy, where he passes on his knowledge and experience to the up-and-coming professionals. Experience from ten years of ice hockey with the Red Bulls, for whom he played a total of 638 league games from 2008 to 2018 and celebrated four championship titles with them (a fifth before that also with the Vienna Capitals).
