Seven current and former academy players
Seven current and former academy players secured relegation with the German national team. Outstanding was Philipp Sinn from EC Red Bull Salzburg, who as captain contributed significantly to the success with a goal and two assists against Norway in the relegation. Veit Oswald and Jakob Weber, both active players with Red Bull Munich in the DEL, also put in strong performances. Oswald, deputy captain of the U20 World Championship team, scored one goal and two assists in the decisive game, while Weber contributed one assist. Vadim Schreiner and Daniel Assavolyuk represented the Red Bull Hockey Academy. Julian Lutz, also an alternate captain and Red Bull Hockey Academy alumni, is currently playing in the USHL for the Green Bay Gamblers. Another alumnus, Julius Sumpf, is currently playing for the Mocton Wildcats in the QMJHL.
