Tournament in Norway
Further developing the playing style and the Team Austria DNA, as well as scouting candidates for further World Championship preparation; these are the goals of Austrian head coach Roger Bader at the tournament from February 6th to 7th in Norway. Therefore, the Austrian squad is still lacking many established players, giving the younger players a chance to prove themselves. Salzburg's Benjamin Nissner, at 28 years old, is thus already one of the oldest players on the team and wants to lead by example with his experience and expertise.

After skipping last year's World Championship to recover, the Salzburg center is determined to reclaim his place on the Austrian national team this year: "I want to show that I'm back, that I want to play for the team, and that I'm giving it my all to be at the World Championship."
Nissner is also thriving in his role as a veteran, as he explained after the first few days of training: "We have a young, hungry team, and I'm looking forward to the games. It's nice to be one of the oldest players for once. I still have a lot to learn, but I think I'm getting a lot of help from others."
Of course, this doesn't change his attitude towards the game; he's the kind of forward who always gives it his all. His strategy for the Three Nations Tournament in Oslo: "Not to test the waters, but to jump right in and show that we're young and hungry."
