Red Bulls vs. ERC Ingolstadt
The Red Bulls lost the first leg 2-6 in Ingolstadt a week ago and need to make up at least four goals to force overtime or score five more goals than Ingolstadt (aggregate score) to reach the quarterfinals. Even though the German team is the clear favorite, the Red Bulls will do everything they can to seize this slim chance.

Background
It's a difficult mission, but not entirely impossible. In the fight for a place in the CHL quarterfinals, the Red Bulls would have to overcome a four-goal deficit in the second leg of their round of 16 tie against ERC Ingolstadt to force overtime, which would occur if the scores from the first and second legs were tied. The Red Bulls remain confident, however, after their 4-1 victory at home against Székesfehérvár in their last win2day ICE Hockey League home game, ending a long losing streak and delivering another strong performance. Defenseman Connor Corcoran will be back for the return leg against Ingolstadt, while Ali Wukovits, Peter Hochkofler, Philipp Wimmer, and Lukas Schreier remain sidelined with injuries.
The task will require maximum athletic performance and a bit of (earned) luck, as Ingolstadt is arguably the best team in the DEL at the moment. The Upper Bavarians have won their last seven games, including the CHL match against Salzburg, and have thus moved up to second place in the DEL standings. Last Sunday, they gave the Augsburg Panthers no chance in a 5-1 home victory.
Players to watch
The star player of ERC Ingolstadt is currently Riley Barber. The 31-year-old American arrived from Russia in the summer and has scored 17 goals in 19 games for his new DEL club. The forward is also the ERC's top scorer in the CHL with 6 goals in 7 games.
For the Red Bulls, Michael Raffl, with his recent brace against Hydro Fehérvár AV19, has taken the lead in the team's scoring charts with 8 goals and 10 assists in 15 games. In the CHL, his brother Thomas Raffl leads the scoring with 2 goals and 4 assists in 7 games.

"We're learning from the past games and trying to take as much as possible from them. We especially want to carry the positives from the last game against Székesfehérvár. In ice hockey, you never know what's going to happen. We'll give it our all and focus on doing the little things right and not dwelling too much on the deficit. We just want to go out there and play our best game."
