Red Bulls vs. Hydro Fehérvár AV19
After yesterday's loss in Graz, the Red Bulls are once again focused on gelling as a team and, after slipping to seventh place in the standings, aiming to return to the top six as quickly as possible. The starting point for this comeback, following five consecutive losses (including in the CHL), will be tomorrow in front of their home crowd against Székesfehérvár.
Current Situation
For the first time this season, the reigning ICE Hockey League champions have dropped back to seventh place in the standings, meaning they currently lack a guaranteed playoff spot. But the Red Bulls are fighting, and they continue to fight to return to a successful, cohesive team performance. Yesterday's 1-4 loss to the Moser Medical Graz99ers demonstrated this; the brilliant moments, plays, and passes are there, but too rarely result in a goal. Similarly, Salzburg is experiencing uncharacteristic difficulties at times, struggling to maintain a compact defense against opposing attacks.
The upcoming game against the eighth-placed Hungarians is another direct opponent in the standings, meaning a win at home would guarantee the Red Bulls' continued position. Unlike Salzburg, the Hungarians have recently regained some momentum after a run of four consecutive losses – the same as the Red Bulls at the moment, and even five games including the CHL. In their last two home games, the Hungarians first prevailed against Bolzano 3-2 in a penalty shootout, followed by a decisive 5-1 derby victory against FTC Telekom Budapest on Friday.
Coaching effect in Székesfehérvár
The new coach, Ted Dent, who was brought to Székesfehérvár during the international break, likely contributed to this success, replacing the previous head coach, David Kiss. The 56-year-old Canadian has many years of experience as a head coach in the AHL and spent last season coaching the Augsburg Panthers in the DEL, his first stint in Europe.

Statement by Manny Viveiros
“You can’t accuse my team of not fighting. The guys are giving it their all! But we need to play smarter. Too often in recent weeks, individual errors have led to goals against us. We’re giving the opponent too much in the neutral zone. But the following still applies: We have to stick together, continue on our path even more actively, and we will get out of this slump.”
