Eishockey 1x1 in SalzburgNext date: November 30 in Vöcklabruck// Eishockey 1x1At the first event of this year's Ice Hockey 1x1 initiative on November 5, 2025, at the Eisarena Salzburg, the focus was once again on the basics of ice hockey.

Around 60 children aged between four and six took the opportunity to take their first steps on the ice. Under the guidance of former Red Bull professional Manuel Latusa and supported by current players and youth coaches from EC Red Bull Salzburg, the children were once again treated to a unique afternoon.

What is behind Eishockey 1x1?

The initiative was launched by former Red Bull professionals Manuel Latusa and Daniel Welser. The aim is to give children a fun introduction to ice hockey and to work with regional clubs to inspire new talent.

Introduction to the world of ice hockey

After a short welcome and getting changed together, the children went straight onto the ice. Under the guidance of Manuel Latusa and the youth coaches, they were taught their first movements, simple exercises, and basic techniques. The young participants showed great enthusiasm right from the start and made rapid progress. Additional motivation was provided by visits from other EC Red Bull Salzburg players, who accompanied the exercises and supported the children with tips and assistance.

Positive response from children and parents

Demand was high again this year. Many parents took advantage of the opportunity to give their children an easy introduction to a new sport. The event also offered young players who are already active a unique opportunity to take to the ice alongside the pros.

Outlook: Further dates for the youth initiative

Following the kick-off in Salzburg, further stages of the initiative will follow in the coming weeks: November 30, 2025 – Vöcklabruck January 16, 2026 – Niedernsill January 19, 2026 – Wels

Registration for the dates will open approximately one month before the event. In addition, a suitable date for Bischofshofen is currently being sought.

All events are aimed at children who have not yet had any contact with ice hockey and would like to try out the sport without obligation.
