Summer has arrived, temperatures are rising, and yet the Red Bull Ice Hockey Academy is still a hive of activity. At least last weekend, when the entire EC Red Bull Salzburg youth squad from U8 to U13 completed a training camp both on and off the ice. Initiated by Andrei Lavrov, Head Coach of the U17 Red Bull Ice Hockey Academy team, over 100 children met for the second time since the end of the season to train together (on ice).

Impressions from the Red Bull Eishockey Akademie
It's primarily about having fun playing ice hockey, says Andrei Lavrov: “We wanted to set new accents in summer training, even for the youngest players, and with the Red Bull Ice Hockey Academy we have the advantage of being able to go out on the ice in May or June. The training should be fun, but also motivate and inspire. And of course we also want to make the youngsters a little curious about the academy.”
Coach Mathias Barth and coach Steffen Müller told us in an interview what happens at the ice hockey camp and why everyone is so enthusiastic about it.

The coaches and supervisors - besides Andrej Lavrov, Daniel Petersson, Mathias Barth, Frank Seewald, Toni Walch, Martin Barth, Manuel Latusa, Stephan Hochenberger, Christoph Piotrowski, Bastian Platten and Mario Huber, a professional from the current Red Bulls championship team, were also on the ice - had their hands full supervising and instructing the children in a variety of different exercises, but did so with flying colors, because at the end of two exhausting training days there were only smiling faces.
And so everyone is already looking forward to the third and final youth camp in mid-June at the Red Bull Ice Hockey Academy, where things will really get down to business once again before the vacations await in July.
