Highlights: Red Bull Hockey Juniors vs. EC Bregenzerwald
Game report The Juniors got off to a better start and put Bregenzerwald under pressure, but the visitors scored with their first counterattack: Toivo Laaksonen made it 0-1 in the second minute of the game. Salzburg responded immediately with chances and shortly afterwards had a four-minute power play. Maxim Eliseev cleverly found himself free during the power play and buried Jakob Schnabl's pass with a one-timer to make it 1-1 (8th minute). The Red Bulls continued to press, failing to capitalize on another power play, before Jesse Juhola delivered the assist for Eliseev with an energetic forecheck – whose second goal gave them a 2-1 lead (16th minute). Towards the end of the period, the Juniors had to play shorthanded for the first time, but they survived unscathed and went into the break with 16-4 shots on goal.
In the second period, the Red Bulls found themselves shorthanded early on, but defended strongly and created chances of their own. Florian Lanzinger took advantage of the next power play, scoring in the 24th minute after a pass from Jesse Juhola – his third assist of the game – to make it 3-1. Just two minutes later (26th), Mathias Böhm increased the lead, putting Vadim Schreiner's pass into the top corner with a one-timer. Bregenzerwald became more active, but Luca Haitzmann made several strong saves. The game remained open, with the home team having a slight offensive advantage. In the 38th minute, Eliseev narrowly missed out on a hat trick after a solo run. Another power play for the Juniors ended the period.
The final period was more evenly matched and physical. Both teams tested the goalies early on, with Salzburg once again having to play shorthanded and doing so with good positioning. Bregenzerwald played more compactly and tried everything to get back into the game, keeping the home side away from goal for a long time despite having more possession. In the 52nd minute, Nick Maul deflected a shot from Alexander Rebernig to make it 5-1. The Red Bulls remained focused during further shorthanded situations – the Vorarlberg team remained dangerous but couldn't find a way past the defense and the strong Haitzmann. In the end, it was a confident 5-1 victory.

Forward Maxim Eliseev
"It was a tough game. We were very strong in the first period, then we slackened off a bit, but it turned out well in the end. With every game, we grow closer together and everyone gives more and more for the team. The further the season progresses, the better it is for us. We have a few games this week, including another one tomorrow, but everyone is looking forward to it – so I don't see any problem with the tight schedule. "
