The Red Bulls will begin their round of 16 match in Ingolstadt on November 12, with the return match in Salzburg on November 19.

It was a true final, as the Red Bulls qualified for the Champions Hockey League playoffs on Wednesday in Salzburg with a 4-1 home win against the Eisbären Berlin in the final game of the regular season. As eleventh overall in the 24-team field, they will now face sixth-place ERC Ingolstadt, last season's DEL regular season winner, in the round of 16. The first knockout round kicks off in Ingolstadt, with the return match – the next early deciding game of the season – taking place in Salzburg. The dates:
