Highlights Hydro Fehérvár AV19 vs. Red Bulls
Game recap
The Red Bulls, who were without five injured players and Thomas Raffl, who was suspended for one game, got off to an excellent start. Peter Schneider initially tested Hungarian goalie Dominik Horvath from the slot (3rd minute), and shortly thereafter, Travis St. Denis converted the first power play goal with a one-timer from a tight angle (4th minute). However, the home team quickly hit back. Istvan Bartalis scored from a scramble in front of the goal when Salzburg goalkeeper Atte Tolvanen had a difficult view (7th minute). The game continued to be back and forth, but the Red Bulls had more possession, especially in the offensive zone, and had significantly more shots, even though the Hungarian goalkeeper made some good saves. Florian Baltram was unlucky with a shot that hit the crossbar (10th minute). The score was 1-1 after 20 minutes.
The Hungarians had the better start in the second period. Rasmus Kulmala shot from the blue line amid heavy traffic in front of goal and scored to give the Red Bulls a 2-1 lead (23rd minute). The Red Bulls then increased the pressure. Brandon Coe had a chance but was thwarted in a one-on-one (24th minute). Peter Schneider (25th minute) and Michael Raffl (26th minute) shot from close range, while Maximilian Kirchebner fired from mid-range at full speed (28th minute). The Hungarians also managed to establish themselves in Salzburg's defensive zone for a time and were then extremely dangerous. Just before the second break, Florian Baltram drove into the slot and scored with a clear shot to equalize at 2-2 (39th minute).
Salzburg were also the more active team offensively in the final period, creating good chances. The home team relied on counterattacks, which became less frequent. Mario Huber had one of the good opportunities with a powerful one-timer from the slot (50th minute). The duels became truly emotional towards the end. The Red Bulls were initially largely unaffected by this, playing on the power play for long periods, but were unable to break the defensive wall. In the final stages, the Red Bulls also found themselves shorthanded twice, and with three seconds left (!), the home team scored the decisive goal to secure a 3-2 victory. Anze Kuralt finished right in front of the net, preventing the Red Bulls from at least gaining a point in Székesfehérvár.

Manny Viveiro's statement
"That's really unfortunate; we were the better team overall today. The effort was there, and we can be satisfied with our performance. Up to the goal, but then we were a bit unlucky. That hurts, of course; we would have deserved at least a point today."
