Highlights Red Bulls vs. Vienna Capitals
Game recap
The Red Bulls, with Troy Bourke back on the ice, started like a shot, forcing the visitors into their own zone for the first five minutes, including the power play. However, Thomas Raffl was then sent off for a game misconduct penalty. Several more penalties followed on both sides, with the Red Bulls playing 3-on-5, 3-on-4, and even 3-on-3. The Caps took advantage of their opportunity, with Zane Franklin scoring on a simple power play to give the visitors the lead (9th minute). It wasn't until the 12th minute that the game resumed with two complete teams. Brandon Coe then had a chance right in front of Vienna goalie Sebastian Wraneschitz (15th minute), but he had his pads down and saved the game. However, he was powerless to stop Benjamin Nissner's rebound from a Tyler Lewington shot (16th minute). Salzburg stayed on the edge, with Devante Stephens having the next chance at 2-on-1 (18th minute). The Capitals also appeared dangerously close to David Kickert's goal twice more. Then the break came, and after much confusion, the score was 1-1.
After the break, the Red Bulls were on the offensive again. David Kickert wasn't caught off guard by a dangerous counterattack featuring a deflected shot from Vienna's Zane Franklin (24th minute). But the Red Bulls were once again two-man down and fell behind again after a goal from Carter Souch (28th minute). And again they equalized. Luca Auer was in the right place for the rebound and poked the puck over the line (30th minute). With a solo effort while shorthanded, Sam Antonitsch regained the lead (33rd minute). The Red Bulls immediately pushed forward and created chances. Then, fittingly for the game, both teams had a power play, but after 40 minutes, Vienna remained 3-2 up.
In the 42nd minute, the puck hit the post during Salzburg's power play, but it didn't go in. The Red Bulls fought, ran the puck around, and fired off many hard shots, all of which initially landed on Sebastian Wraneschitz. The Capitals huddled together, rarely getting forward. But their patience paid off, with Florian Baltram finally scoring from the right face-off circle to equalize (55th minute). After what appeared to be a goal from Vienna, but was disallowed after video review, and a powerful final phase from Salzburg, the game finally went into overtime, where Michael Raffl put his stick in the right position at the left post and sealed the Red Bulls' hard-earned 2-point victory after 14 seconds.

Statement from Florian Baltram
"The win was very important for us as a team, but it wasn't an easy game. A lot of penalties on both sides, which obviously affects the flow of the game. But we never stop, we believe in ourselves, and today we were lucky again that the puck went in. We've been lacking that lately."
