However, EV Zug took the lead in the counterattack when Dominik Kubalik scored on Arvid Holm during a power play (4th minute). In this high-quality encounter, the Swedes then became more dominant and created chances. Zug goalkeeper Tim Wolf distinguished himself several times, while the Swedes controlled the puck. The Swiss withstood the pressure twice while shorthanded. But then Filip Johansson finished off a perfect 3-on-2 counterattack with a one-timer to tie the game (18th minute), and a few seconds before the first intermission, Isac Solberg turned the game around in Sweden's favor. Zug goalie Tim Wolf had to let the screened shot through his pads.
After the break, EV Zug came back strong and played on equal terms with Rögle BK. Both teams thrilled the crowd with fast-paced hockey and tough but fair battles. There were plenty of good scoring chances, but both goalies were on top form and didn't let anything get past them, so the Swedes took their 2-1 lead into the final period. In the final period, the Swiss came close to equalizing with a powerful power play and continued to pose a serious threat in front of the Swedish goal. The momentum had shifted, but at that very moment (54th minute), Anton Bentsson scored with a strong solo effort into the top corner to increase Sweden's lead to 3-1. Frederik Olofsson finally sealed the deal with an empty-net goal (59th minute). Overall, Rögle BK was a tad better than Zug and is therefore the deserved winner of the tournament.
