Red Bull Hockey Juniors play their first test match on FridayAlps Hockey League schedule for 2025/26 finalized// JuniorsThe Red Bull Hockey Juniors kick off their intensive preseason preparations on Friday, August 8, with a home game against the U20 team from HC Energie Karlovy Vary.
The Juniors want to prepare themselves optimally for the upcoming challenges with a broad-based pre-season program. The program kicks off tomorrow at the Red Bull Ice Hockey Academy. Due to limited spectator capacity, home games at the academy will be closed to the public, but they will be broadcast live on Red+.
The Red Bull Hockey Juniors will play a total of around ten test matches before the new Alps Hockey League season kicks off on September 20, 2025. After the match against Karlovy Vary, the Juniors will travel to Zug for the prestigious EVZ Prospects Challenge. In addition to host EV Zug (Switzerland), top junior teams from across Europe will be participating, including HC Bílí Tygři Liberec (Czech Republic), Tappara Tampere (Finland), Rögle BK (Sweden), and the ZSC Lions (Switzerland). This will be followed by games at the tournament in Tabor against Slavia Trebic and HC Tabor, before home and away games against the German Oberliga teams Stuttgart Rebels and SC Deggendorf are on the schedule.
Special highlight for local fans and season ticket holders
On September 7, the Red Bull Hockey Juniors will host SC Deggendorf for their first public home game of the preseason at the Eisarena Salzburg – the game starts at 5:00 p.m. and admission is free.
Just two weeks later, on September 20, the official league season kicks off in the Alps Hockey League – once again with a home game for the Juniors at the Eisarena Salzburg.
All Red Bull Hockey Juniors home games will continue to be free for season ticket holders in the upcoming 2025/26 season.

Alps Hockey League 2025/26 season – overview
The cross-border Alps Hockey League is entering its ninth season. In 2025/26, the tried-and-tested format will once again consist of a regular season, a master or qualification round, and the subsequent playoffs. What is new is the composition of the league: HK Celje (Slovenia) is withdrawing, but HC Asiago (Italy) is joining as the 13th team.
Important dates in the Alps Hockey League
September 20, 2025 – Start of the regular season January 31, 2026 – Last match day of the regular season February 5, 2026 – Start of the master and qualification rounds March 3, 2026 – Start of the pre-playoffs (best-of-three) March 10, 2026 – Start of quarterfinals (best-of-seven) March 26, 2026 – Start of semifinals (best-of-seven) April 11, 2026 – Start of finals (best-of-seven) April 25, 2026 – Latest possible date for final game
Mode for the 2025/26 season
The regular season consists of one and a half rounds of home and away games, i.e. 36 games per team.
The top five teams qualify directly for the playoffs and start in the Master Round, where they receive bonus points (4–3–2–1–0) depending on their ranking.
The teams ranked 6th to 13th are divided into two qualification groups. Here, too, there are bonus points (3–2–1–0). After the round-robin phase, the top three teams from both groups qualify for the pre-playoffs.
The subsequent playoffs are played in a best-of-seven format, with the exception of the pre-playoffs (best-of-three).
