New forward Adam Brooks

First new signing for the Red BullsAdam Brooks moves from Munich to Salzburg// Team updateEC Red Bull Salzburg has signed Adam Brooks as their first new forward for the upcoming season. The 30-year-old Canadian with NHL experience joins from EHC Red Bull Munich and will be playing in the win2day ICE Hockey League for the first time.
With 45 NHL games under his belt, 312 AHL games under his belt, and most recently 81 games (24 goals, 43 assists) with EHC Red Bull Munich in the PENNY DEL, Adam Brooks brings a wealth of experience and can play both wing and center. After two years in the DEL, the 6-foot-1 left-handed shooter is very familiar with the European ice surface. The Red Bulls' similar playing style in Munich, as well as two encounters with Salzburg in the last two years at the Red Bulls Salute in Zell am See, should make it easy for Brooks to settle in Salzburg and showcase his skills.
Statement Adam Brooks
: “Since I was already familiar with the Red Bull program from my time in Munich, and my current teammates had told me about the team in Salzburg, it was a great opportunity for me to play on a championship team. When a team wins four years in a row, you know it has a strong core that knows how to work, prepare, and win. It’s great to be part of such a group and to contribute as much as I can. I think I can play most positions as a forward and would describe myself as an intelligent player with a strong work ethic and engine. I have a good sense of position on the ice, and my speed with the puck and my forechecking are also among my strengths. I’m looking forward to joining the guys and getting started as soon as possible.”
Highlights of the last season
Helmut Schlögl, Managing Director Pro of EC Red Bull Salzburg
“We are delighted that Adam has decided to remain with the Red Bull family. He possesses immense talent, is an outstanding skater with great speed, and brings an excellent work ethic. In addition to his athletic abilities, he impresses above all with his impeccable character. Furthermore, he already knows our system inside and out, which will greatly facilitate his integration.”
The forward, drafted by the Toronto Maple Leafs in 2016, has already celebrated a title. He won the Calder Cup, the trophy for the American Hockey League champion, with the Toronto Marlies in 2018. EC Red Bull Salzburg is his second stop in Europe after his stint in the DEL; in Munich, Brooks reached the semifinals last season.
