Film Premiere
The large cinema at the Mozartkino in Salzburg, which generously provided the venue to the Red Bulls as part of their partnership, was packed. After a welcome and brief introductory interviews with the cinema's managing director, Alexander Krammer, filmmakers Torben Nilles and Rob Hammer (10Tenths), and the protagonist himself, the film began: a unique documentary following EC Red Bull Salzburg captain Thomas Raffl through the 2025/26 season, interspersed with flashbacks to his past, painting a very personal portrait of him.

The camera crew followed Thomas "Pomsche" Raffl for an entire season, capturing all the highs and lows and preserving many exciting, emotional, and authentic moments from the everyday life of the Austrian ice hockey legend. Beyond his role as a leading player, the film also offers glimpses into his private life, revealing the hard-nosed professional athlete as a loving father and family man.
Thomas Raffl on the film
"It's simply incredible. EC Red Bull Salzburg showed me great appreciation by giving me the opportunity to participate in my own documentary. I'm fortunate to have been doing what I love for 36 years. To then receive recognition from my teammates makes me proud, and I hope that my experiences can help make them even better. We've always been able to stay true to ourselves; you get a good impression of how well we work together as a team, and if this documentary sparks an interest in ice hockey for even a few people, then we've already succeeded."
Torben Nilles, 10Tenths
“We met Thomas and Verena last June and were immediately immersed in a completely new world. After delving into Thomas's background, we knew we had to make this film. The story really took shape during the production process, resulting in a captivating, nearly hour-long documentary about the Captain's Code.”
