Wings for Life App Run im Volksgarten | Laufteam "Red Bulls & Friends"
When thousands of runners from around the globe start the Wings for Life World Run on May 10th, Salzburg's Volksgarten will once again become a running hotspot. With 2,000 participants expected, the app run, held near the Salzburg Ice Arena and home of the Red Bulls, who organized the event, has become the largest app run organized in Austria in recent years.
A distinctive trademark: The running shirts, redesigned each year by an artist, feature designs worn by the EHC Red Bull Munich and EC Red Bull Salzburg teams during a home game in the recently concluded season. Proceeds from jersey sales went directly to Wings for Life.

Stars at the Wings for Life World Run in Volksgarten
Among the many participants of the App Run in Volksgarten this year were a few stars from the sports scene. First and foremost was Thomas Raffl, captain of the Red Bulls and the running team "Red Bulls & Friends," who is taking part himself this year and is bringing along six other teammates, including Peter Hochkofler (pictured with the last four editions of the running shirt).

In addition to the professional ice hockey players, Paul Guschlbauer (professional paraglider pilot, participant in the Red Bull X-Alps, among other events), Matthias Walkner (motocross rider, winner of the Dakar Rally, among other achievements), Sascha Huber (fitness influencer), and Larissa Weber (sports student and influencer) have also registered for the App Run in the Volksgarten. Racing wheelchair racer Thomas Geierspichler (multiple world champion, European champion, and Paralympic gold medalist), who has regularly participated in the Volksgarten in the past, will also be taking part in the run along the Salzach River again.
Peter Hochkofler: "Goosebumps when you're at the starting line"
For Salzburg's "legendary fighter" Peter Hochkofler, participating in the Volksgarten is a matter of honor. For many years, the 31-year-old forward has been running there for those who can't. “Everyone is running for the same thing, everyone is trying their best. It doesn't matter how far you get or what your potential is. It's a very special race, and I'm always thrilled to be a part of it.”
