Paul Stapelfeldt started at the age of six in EC Red Bull Salzburg's youth program and from there made the leap to the Red Bull Ice Hockey Academy, where he went through all age groups. His junior successes include the title in the U18 Erste Bank Juniors League and twice becoming Austrian champion of the Alps Hockey League.
In the Salzburg professional team, Stapelfeldt has increasingly developed into a physically robust defender with strong defensive qualities in recent years, which also helped him to make the Austrian national team last season, including participation in the World Championships in the Czech Republic. With the Red Bulls, he has been champion of the win2day ICE Hockey League four times in the last four years, making 224 appearances (4 goals, 14 assists). In the CHL he played 31 times for the Red Bulls.
