Chay Genoway ends his career A great of the sport takes his hat off // Team updateChay Genoway announces the end of his career after three successful years with EC Red Bull Salzburg. The 38-year-old defenseman celebrated three titles in the win2day ICE Hockey League with the Salzburgers at the end of a long and successful career. It would be hard to imagine a better end. Chay Genoway won as many titles with the Red Bulls in three win2day ICE Hockey League seasons, crowning his international career, which also included winning the Champions Hockey League and the Swedish top league SHL as well as a bronze medal with Canada at the Olympic Games.
Genoway was a fixture in Salzburg's defense and was also able to give the offensive game a decisive boost with his stick-handling and eye for the teammate. In 164 league games, the veteran recorded 23 goals and 63 assists and also played 23 CHL games with the Red Bulls (2 T, 6 A). As assistant captain, Genoway also brought all his expertise from a long international career to the Red Bulls team and thus lived up to his leadership role.
