Starting position
Pure excitement ahead of the final round. The Red Bulls are in second place in the table, two points behind league leaders Klagenfurt and two points ahead of third-placed Bolzano. This means: If the Red Bulls win in regular time and the KAC lose without points, the Red Bulls would finish the GD as winners. If the Red Bulls lose without points and the HCB wins in regulation time, the Red Bulls would slip to third place. One point from the encounter is enough for Salzburg to secure second place and thus CHL participation next season.
Hydro Fehérvár AV19, on the other hand, are fighting to stay in the top six and thus secure a place in the play-offs. If the Hungarians lose and Linz and Villach win at the same time, they could drop back to seventh place and would then have to play in the pre-playoffs to reach the last eight.
Who can stabilize faster?
Both teams have recently struggled to find their game consistently. The Red Bulls have regularly alternated between victories and defeats. With yesterday's OT win against Ljubljana, however, Salzburg have managed to record two successive victories after a month.
The Hungarians have only won one game in the last six rounds (against Innsbruck on February 13). The last defeat dates back to February 16 at home against HCB Südtirol Alperia.
