Leon Kolarik wins the Young Star vote for January Fans' votes were the deciding factor // ICE Young Star election of the month At just 17 years of age, our striker Leon Kolarik was voted Young Star of the Month for January by TV experts and fans, beating off competition from Asiago, Vienna and Székesfehérvár. Congratulations from the Red Bulls! In the fourth monthly election of the win2day ICE Hockey League, our youngster Leon Kolarik was rewarded for his strong performances with the Red Bulls' professional team and received the Young Star Award. The votes of the fans, who decide in the event of a tie, were decisive for the ranking.

“I think for a 17-year-old, that's something really special. To be nominated at all and then to win. I'm very grateful to the fans who voted for me and, of course, to my friends and family who always support me and helped me win the January vote.”
And that with only seven games in total in the top division. As one of the youngest players to make his professional debut in Salzburg, the forward played his first professional game on November 1, 2024 at the age of 17 in the home game against VSV and celebrated his first goal in the win2day ICE Hockey League on January 28 in Innsbruck.
Third youngest goal scorer for the Red Bulls
This makes the Vienna-born player the third youngest Red Bulls goalscorer in the top league. Only Johannes Bischofberger (16 years, 221 days) and Julian Lutz (16 years, 303 days) scored earlier. Leon Kolarik needed 17 years and 127 days to score his first goal. In fourth place in this ranking is Luca Auer, who scored his first professional goal at the age of 17 years and 220 days.
Leon Kolarik is currently back playing with the Red Bull Hockey Juniors in the Alps Hockey League, where the U20 international has 10 goals and 11 assists after 30 games. Next game: Tonight in Val Gardena.
