The Red Bull Hockey Juniors will now kick off the new Alps Hockey League season on September 22 with a home game against last year's finalists S.G. Cortina Hafro.
13 teams, 36 games in the basic round, return of the Master and Qualification Rounds
Following the surprising withdrawal of Steel Wings Linz AG, the schedule and mode for the upcoming season had to be adjusted at short notice. In order to ensure that all 13 remaining teams play a sufficient number of games, the league has reintroduced the Master and Qualification Round.
Initially, all teams will play 36 basic round matches. The top five teams then compete in the Master Round for the best starting position for the playoffs. The teams in sixth to 13th place are divided into two groups and play in the Qualification Round to qualify for the pre-playoffs, in which the last three quarter-final tickets are played out. A first and second round will be played in both the Master Round and the Qualification Round.
The Red Bull Hockey Juniors, who reached the semi-finals for the second time in a row last season, will kick off the new season on Sunday, September 22, with an away game against S.G. Cortina Hafro. The first home game is scheduled for September 24 against the Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan.
