Alps Hockey League schedule fixed with new mode Derby atmosphere at the start of the regular season// Alps Hockey LeagueThe Alps Hockey League has published the schedule for the new 2024/25 season. The Salzburg derby in Zell am See awaits the Red Bull Hockey Juniors right at the start on September 21. 14 teams, 39 games per team in the basic round, followed by pre-playoffs and playoffs - these are the key figures for the ninth season of the cross-border Alps Hockey League. The participants from Italy (6), Austria (5) and Slovenia (2) will be joined for the first time by a team from Croatia, KHL Sisak. EHC Lustenau, the KAC Future Team and SHC Fassa Falcons are no longer taking part. The defending champions are the Rittner Buam SkyAlps, who won the title for the first time.
The Red Bull Hockey Juniors, who reached the semi-finals last season for the second time since the previous season, will kick off the new championship with a derby in Zell am See on September 21. The first home game in the Eisarena Salzburg is against Bregenzerwald on September 25. The first match against the Croatian league newcomers KHL Sisak will take place on November 16 in Salzburg.

Top 5 teams in the playoffs
The ninth season of the Alps Hockey League will be played in a new format. Each team will play 39 games in the basic round, meaning three games against each club. The top five teams are then guaranteed a place in the playoffs, while the teams in sixth to eleventh place play in pre-playoffs for the remaining three quarter-final tickets. The division into a Master and Qualification Round will therefore no longer apply in the coming season.
The main match days will remain Thursday and Saturday. For logistical and infrastructural reasons, "road trips" are also set for the upcoming season, which means that some games will also be played outside of the main match days.
