He was born in Salzburg, went through all the junior classes at the Red Bulls and the Red Bull Ice Hockey Academy and made his debut in the reigning champions' professional team in the 2018/19 season. Since then, he has played 210 games in the ICE Hockey League (2 goals, 18 assists) and has developed into a consistent defenseman. Last season, Schreier also played 11 games with the Red Bull Hockey Juniors in the Alps Hockey League, including winning the Austrian AHL championship.
In addition to his defensive qualities, the agile defenseman is characterized by a good overview of the game and was also used as a forward at times during the past season. With these skills and his universal versatility, Schreier wants to help the Red Bulls defend their title in the coming season. Alongside Paul Stapelfeldt and Luca Auer, he is one of three Salzburg players from the club's own youth ranks who have made the leap into the Red Bulls' professional team.
