Phillip Sinn stays with EC Red Bull SalzburgSimon Wolf joins the Red Bulls in Munich// Roster UpdateWith the German Phillip Sinn, EC Red Bull Salzburg keeps another great talent in the professional team, the 20-year-old defenseman and academy graduate still has a current contract.
Goalkeeper Simon Wolf is also staying with the Red Bulls, but is moving to Munich and wants to take the next step in the PENNY DEL. Tim Harnisch and Cameron Schilling, two players from last year's championship-winning team, will be leaving Salzburg.
After Phillip Sinn made his debut in the PENNY DEL in the 2022/23 season with two appearances for EHC Red Bull Munich, he played almost the entire 2023/24 season in the win2day ICE Hockey League and made a strong impression. After joining the Red Bull Ice Hockey Academy from Mannheim in 2018, he quickly developed into an agile and playful defender. As captain, Sinn also managed to keep the German U20 national team out of the last U20 World Championship in Sweden. He now wants to continue growing with the Red Bulls in the ICE Hockey League and Champions Hockey League next season.
Simon Wolf also made great strides in his development last season. The goalkeeper has been playing at the Red Bull Ice Hockey Academy since 2018 and has developed into a strong back-up for the Red Bull Hockey Juniors. Last season, the 19-year-old German recorded a save percentage of 92.7% in the Austrian-international Alps Hockey League, making him the second-best goalie in the entire league. Wolf played a big part in the Juniors' success - reaching the AHL semi-finals for the second time in a row, winning the Austrian AHL championship - and also showed promising talent in two games with the Salzburg pros in the win2day ICE Hockey League. Wolf will now get the chance to prove himself at four-time German champions Red Bull Munich.
Tim Harnisch joined the Red Bull Ice Hockey Academy in 2016 and has worked his way up through the junior ranks and the Red Bull Hockey Juniors to the Red Bulls' professional team. The 23-year-old forward has played his part in recent championships with the Red Bulls, scoring 14 goals and 18 assists in a total of 190 games with the Salzburgers.
Defender Cameron Schilling was brought to Salzburg at the beginning of January and helped the Red Bulls with his many years of experience to secure their third championship title in a row. The 35-year-old American played 29 games for the reigning champions, recording 1 goal and 11 assists.
EC Red Bull Salzburg would like to thank all the players who are leaving the club for their commitment and achievements and wishes them all the best and every success in their sporting and personal lives.
