Playoff quarterfinals | Red Bulls ready for Black Wings Linz Peter Schneider: "The playoffs are simply the best time of the ice hockey season" // win2day ICE Hockey League Two days before the start of the playoffs of the win2day ICE Hockey League, EC Red Bull Salzburg held a media event at the Eisarena Salzburg to provide information about its goals and expectations in the knockout phase of the championship. The first quarter-final game of the best-of-seven series against Steinbach Black Wings Linz (5.30 p.m., Puls24) is scheduled for next Sunday, March 3, at the Eisarena Salzburg. The playoff opener is traditionally celebrated with a White Night, i.e. the fans come to the Eisarena dressed in white as a sign of their support; the three most original visitors in white win exclusive prizes.

The Red Bulls have known their quarter-final opponents since yesterday evening - the play-off pairings were determined in the so-called pick following the third pre-play-off game between Pustertal and Ljubljana. This is the fourth time in league history that Salzburg and Linz have faced each other in a playoff series, with the Red Bulls always coming out on top. The Red Bulls also have the edge in the direct season duel with a 3:1 win. However, there was an extra shift three times, twice the penalty shootout had to decide.
Statement by Peter Schneider
"We've trained very hard this week and are ready for the first game on Sunday. But Linz is a very tough opponent. We will prepare ourselves for the Upper Austrians in the remaining two days and study them closely. I'm excited in a positive sense and I'm really looking forward to the game. It's just unbelievably nice to be able to play ice hockey, I've realized that again after my injury. The playoffs are definitely the best time of the ice hockey season."
Into the quarterfinals with the White Night
The Red Bulls are particularly looking forward to their home crowd at the start of the playoffs, who are traditionally invited to come to the first playoff game - White Night - dressed in white to show their support for the Red Bulls. There are also three great prizes to be won:
1. season ticket for the 2024/25 season
2. 1x2 VIP tickets in the Bulls Lounge for the home game on March 7
3. season ticket for all remaining home games in the current playoffs
