EC Red Bull Salzburg will be without Peter Schneider for an extended period of time. The 32-year-old forward suffered an ankle injury on Saturday in the away game against HCB Südtirol Alperia and is expected to be out for several weeks.

This means Schneider will probably miss the remaining games of the basic round of the win2day ICE Hockey League. Until then - the Salzburg top scorer was already missing yesterday's away game against Linz - he had played all CHL and league games with the Red Bulls and scored 17 goals and 39 assists in 39 games in the ICE Hockey League.
Schneider moved to Salzburg from HC Kometa Brno in 2021, immediately became the Red Bulls' top forward and won the ICE Hockey League twice with them. In the 2021-22 season, the 98-time Austrian international was also awarded the Ron Kennedy Trophy for the Most Valuable Player of the season.
