The Red Bulls suffered a small setback in their battle for the top of the table on Saturday when they lost 3:2 after overtime in Feldkirch, but scored points for the fifth game in a row. As a result, Salzburg remain in second place in the table, one point behind league leaders Klagenfurt and level on points with third-placed Székesfehérvár. The Red Bulls are determined to defend this position with another win against Asiago.
Salzburg have emerged victorious from the two previous meetings this season; the Red Bulls also want to win the third clash with Asiago and are looking forward to their vociferous home crowd again on the last Ladies Night of the season - all ladies have free entry.
Twelfth in the table, the Asiago team is fighting for a place in the pre-playoffs and needs every point to do so. On the road, however, Head Coach Tom Barrasso's team is the weakest team in the league. The Italians have just two wins after overtime and nine points in 17 away games. The Italians are also bottom of the league in goals conceded - 133. The Red Bulls have conceded the second fewest goals with 81.
