Lucas Thaler is Young Star of the Month for NovemberThe 21-year-old striker won the award at his second attempt // Young Star-WahlIt was Lucas Thaler's second nomination for Young Star of the Month this season. This time, the 21-year-old won with 12 points, closely followed by Sebastian Wraneschitz (spusu Vienna Capitals) with 11 points. Lucas Thaler has been playing in the Red Bulls' organization since the 2020/21 season. On his debut in the win2day ICE Hockey League on February 5, 2021, the right-shooter scored his first goal in a 3:2 win in Bratislava. The Austrian 2023 World Cup participant has since become an integral part of the Salzburg team. In November, Thaler scored three goals in six appearances and also set up two further goals.
Thaler beat off competition from Sebastian Wraneschitz (Vienna, 11 points), Ziga Mehle (Ljubljana, 9 points) and Finn van Ee (Klagenfurt, 8 points) in the poll with 12 points.

"Being Young Star of the Month for November means a lot to me. I already had the chance to become a Young Star in September/October, but unfortunately it wasn't enough. That's why I'm all the more delighted to have received this award now. Also a huge thank you to the fans who voted for me. I am super happy."
Voting procedure
First, five monthly winners are determined. Four players per month will be nominated to stand for election. Due to only a few match days in September 2023, the first two months have been combined into one election. The five monthly winners will then compete for the title of "Young Star of the 2023/24 season" at the start of the playoffs.
The vote consists of two components: In addition to the fan voting on the league homepage, the TV experts from Austria, Italy and Slovenia also cast their votes. If two or more players receive the same number of votes, they will be ranked according to the result of the fan vote.
