Game Summary
The Red Bulls got off to a strong start and had early chances; Florian Lanzinger was denied by Claes Endre from close range (4th minute). Val Gardena countered with quick transitions, but Luca Haitzmann remained solid in goal against the home team’s early shots. In the 12th minute, Simon Pitschieler set up Vlastimil Dostalek, who scored to make it 1-0; shortly after, the Juniors had to survive a 2+2-minute penalty kill following a high-sticking call. Just before the first intermission, the Salzburg team had their first power play, but they were unable to tie the game.
The Juniors started the second period with a remaining power play, after which Val Gardena took control again; Simon Pitschieler hit the crossbar (22nd minute). The Juniors fought back with intense battles for the puck and earned their next power play in the second half of the period, but Val Gardena defended strongly while shorthanded. In the closing stages, Salzburg created more dangerous chances through Luca Kogler (36th), Moussa Hackert (37th), and Adrian Gesson (39th); for Gröden, Martin Castlunger failed to capitalize on a great opportunity in the final minute of the second period (40th).
In the final period, the Red Bulls earned another power play early on, but the score remained unchanged. Jesse Juhola hit the post in the 50th minute, and Adrian Gesson was denied again by Endre in the 55th minute. In the final two minutes of the game, the Juniors had another power play and pulled Luca Haitzmann for a sixth skater, but Val Gardena defended its narrow lead until the final buzzer. Game 4 thus goes to the South Tyroleans, who take a 3-1 lead in the series.

Statement Teemu Levijoki
“We had our chances, but we didn’t capitalize on them today. If you don’t score goals, it’s hard to win. Defensively, we did a lot of things right and only allowed one goal, but offensively we’re currently lacking consistency. At times, we overcomplicated things instead of looking to finish and going for rebounds. Now we have to believe in ourselves, not panic, and keep working hard. We have our next chance on Friday.”
