Alan Letang and both Assistant Coaches leaving
Following the departure of the coaching staff, Teemu Levijoki—longtime head coach of the Red Bull Hockey Juniors—will take over the professional team as head coach. He will be supported by his fellow Finn, Ilkka Pakarinen, who has also worked with the Red Bull Hockey Juniors for over four years, serving as assistant coach.
Helmut Schlögl, Managing Director Pro, stated: "The performances delivered so far this season do not meet our expectations. Consequently, we have decided to make a change. We are very grateful to all three coaches for their efforts and wish them the very best for the future."
Alan Letang took charge of the Salzburg squad as head coach this summer. Prior to this, the 51-year-old Canadian spent many years coaching in the OHL and, earlier this spring, served as head coach for the Blue Devils Weiden in the DEL2 for the remainder of the season. For assistant coach Jason Morgan (CAN), this was also his first season in Salzburg, while assistant coach Adam Maglio (CAN) was in his second season with the Red Bulls.
EC Red Bull Salzburg’s next home game in the win2day ICE Hockey League will take place this coming Wednesday against Olimpija Ljubljana (October 21, 7:15 PM).
