Open Locker Room
On Wednesday, the Red Bulls hosted numerous media representatives for an open locker room session with the full squad, outlining their goals for the new season. Head Coach Alan Letang is particularly eager for the season opener; having taken charge of the Salzburg team over the summer—and following an initial four-game stint in the Champions Hockey League—he is now set to make his debut behind the bench for the Red Bulls in the win2day ICE Hockey League. Thomas Raffl and his teammates are equally excited and fired up for the start of the new season, heading into the title race with renewed ambition following their quarter-final exit last year.
Heading into the new season with respect
The opening stretch is already a real challenge. With their perennial Carinthian rivals from Klagenfurt and the strong, seasoned squad from Bolzano, the schedule pits them against two teams aiming for the top of the standings right from the first weekend. However, the circle of title contenders has expanded significantly: Graz, Pustertal, Székesfehérvár, Ljubljana, Vienna, Linz—the list goes on.
Then there is the league newcomer from Milan; based on their pre-season results and current roster, they shouldn't be viewed merely as a surprise package, but rather as a team to watch closely—one poised to make a strong impact in their debut season. The Red Bulls know they must deliver their best performance in every game if they want to pick up points in the ICE Hockey League.

Taking Lessons from the CHL
Four Champions Hockey League games should have thoroughly prepared the Red Bulls for the challenges ahead. Salzburg faced tough tests against German, Czech, and Swedish opponents (one win, three losses), with every match requiring them to push their limits. The squad—significantly reshaped with nine new arrivals following eleven departures—has gelled well and is now eager to make a strong impression in the win2day ICE Hockey League.
Despite all the changes, the Red Bulls can still rely on their strong core of Austrian players, who will continue to form the foundation for future success. The Raffl brothers, Peter Schneider, Benjamin Nissner, Mario Huber, and the goaltending duo of Tolvanen and Kickert—to name just a few—know what it takes to win championships and will lead the team with their expertise and passion in the new season.
