CHL Regular Season | Bílí Tygri Liberec
Mario Huber opened the scoring early, but after that, the visitors forced the Red Bulls increasingly onto the defensive. However, thanks to a strong performance from goaltender Atte Tolvanen, the Red Bulls thwarted all of Liberec's scoring opportunities. Adam Brooks' goal in the 57th minute provided some relief, and Peter Schneider sealed the hard-fought first CHL victory of the season with an empty-net goal.

Game Summary
Without the recovering Florian Baltram, Fabian Baumann, Wyatt Kalynuk, and David Kickert (due to family reasons), the Red Bulls started their match against Liberec. 20-year-old Swede Isak Norlin from the Red Bull Hockey Juniors made his debut for the Salzburg professional team, while Luca Haitzmann was on the bench as backup goalie.
It was a perfect start. The Red Bulls came out with a lot of energy, and in the 2nd minute, Dennis Robertson hit the post. The game then settled down, but Salzburg had the better chances with shots from Luca Auer and Adam Brooks. Mario Huber then gave the home team a spectacular lead while shorthanded after a brilliant pass from Luca Auer (7th minute). Salzburg remained dominant and created further good opportunities. The visitors' best chance fell to Tomas Filippi, who found himself alone in front of the net (18th minute). Goalie Atte Tolvanen made a crucial save, securing a well-deserved 1-0 lead after 20 minutes.
In the second period, the Czechs seemed to have finally found their rhythm. They played more aggressively on offense and began creating scoring opportunities. The Red Bulls were equally prolific. Michael Raffl had a chance to double the lead, but his shot from a very sharp angle missed the half-empty net (25th minute). However, the Czech pressure intensified, and Atte Tolvanen made several outstanding saves. Only in the final minutes did Salzburg manage to break free and immediately become dangerous. Benjamin Nissner had a chance to put the game beyond doubt from close range (37th minute), but Liberec's goalie Petr Kváča was alert. After 40 minutes, the Red Bulls still held the lead thanks to their strong defensive play, but Liberec remained a constant threat.
Even in the final period, the visitors largely controlled the offensive zone. The Red Bulls battled hard, putting in a tough defensive effort and blocking numerous shots. It wasn't until the 51st minute that a 2-on-1 breakaway with Michael Raffl and Adam Brooks provided some relief, followed shortly after by another power play. But it was Adam Brooks' goal, a shot from the right face-off circle into the far corner (57th minute), that brought real relief. Peter Schneider then added an empty-net goal (58th minute), sealing a 3-0 victory, the foundation of which was the Red Bulls' outstanding defensive performance.
Statement by Adam Brooks
"It was a good game. It could have gone either way, but we did a really good job, especially defensively. Whenever you win against such top teams from other top leagues in the CHL, you can consider yourself lucky, and we want to build on that."
