CHL Regular Season
The schedule for the 2026/27 Champions Hockey League regular season features a home double-header for the Red Bulls right from the start. After the opening game against the Cologne Sharks on September 3, the Red Bulls will face the Czech powerhouse Bílí Tygri Liberec on Sunday, September 5.

Alan Letang, appointed as the new head coach of EC Red Bull Salzburg this summer, has prepared his team well with two exhibition games and two games at the Red Bulls Salute tournament. He will continue working on further details in the remaining days before the CHL season begins. "At the Red Bulls Salute, we already played at times like the team we want to be. We have a lot of character in the locker room, which is evident even in difficult moments. We played with a very high intensity," the 50-year-old Canadian analyzed after the tournament.
Now they move on to the Champions Hockey League, which is rightly called the top tier of European hockey. Letang is well aware of this: “It’s a great honor to participate in the CHL and to be able to compete against the best teams in Europe. We believe in ourselves, and if we bring our identity and the level we’re capable of to the ice in these games, we have the chance to showcase our talent.”
Letang has great respect for his opponents but gladly accepts the challenge. "Our regular season opponents are formidable. We play against champions, finalists, and regular season winners. We're excited to take on these opponents. This requires very thorough and detailed preparation. Just playing against these teams raises our competitive level and our awareness of the task at hand."
Letang hasn't yet set a specific goal but has a clear vision of how his team should perform in the CHL: "The Red Bulls have developed their own identity over many years. We, as the coaching staff, as a team, as a group, believe that if we play at our best, with high intensity and without compromise, then we will be satisfied with the games and results and continue to improve."
